Terms & Conditions

These terms govern use of this private reference site. By using it, a visitor agrees to these terms. A visitor who does not agree should not use the service or its search features.

This is a private website with no affiliation with a Sheriff, jail, corrections department, court, or another government body. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Neither this site nor its advertising or search partners provides consumer reports or services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

Nature of the Service

The site is a records-reference resource. It links to official Vernon County, Wisconsin, and federal sources and may point to third-party search tools. It does not hold official county records, confirm custody, release a person, file a document, post bond, or provide legal advice. Government offices and outside providers control their own data, processes, and availability.

Permitted Use

Visitors may use the site only lawfully and responsibly. Do not use information to stalk, harass, threaten, impersonate, harm, or violate another person’s rights. Do not try to access systems without authorization, interfere with service, introduce malicious code, scrape or automate access, or misrepresent your identity. Official record sources have their own access rules, which also apply when a visitor follows a link.

FCRA-Prohibited Uses

The site is not a consumer reporting agency. Visitors agree not to use information from the site, its links, or a partner tool for a decision about hiring, firing, housing, tenancy, creditworthiness, insurance premiums, licensing, permits, government-program eligibility, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA. Partners are likewise not authorized by this site to furnish screening services.

Outside Resources

Links may lead to Sheriff, jail, police, court, corrections, federal-locator, legal-aid, news, or search-provider resources. A link is provided for navigation, not as an endorsement. We do not control or guarantee an outside site’s data, terms, privacy practices, pricing, uptime, security, or results. Review each destination’s terms before using it.

No Warranties

The service is offered as is and as available. We make no promise that content will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Custody status, public records, contact details, and outside results can change without notice. Nothing on this site is an official statement by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office or another government entity.

Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service or an external link. This includes loss caused by changed records, unavailable sites, an identity mismatch, or a third party’s conduct.

Indemnity

A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the site, its owners, and its providers from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from that visitor’s use, breach of these terms, or violation of law or another person’s rights.

Site Materials

The site’s original text, graphics, logos, design, and code are owned by Vernon County Busted Mugshots or its content partners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No material may be copied, distributed, modified, or used commercially without written permission, except as law allows. Government source material and outside websites remain subject to their own rights and rules.

Changes and Access

We may change these terms, alter the service, or limit or end access at any time, with or without notice. Updated terms take effect when posted. Continuing to use the site after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

Wisconsin Law and Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and disputes must be brought in courts within Wisconsin where permitted. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect and the affected language will be adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.

Questions About These Terms

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Get in Touch page. Government-record, custody, court, and warrant questions should instead be directed to the responsible official office.
