The detention center is staffed continuously, but normal records processing follows the posted records-office hours. Vernon County has no verified public live jail roster, so an immediate question belongs with the jail rather than a web search.
Where to Direct a Record Question
Choose the custodian based on the question. A booking record, an arrest report, a court case, and a state-corrections record can be held by different offices.
- For a Sheriff-held booking sheet, daily jail record, or existing photo request, use the Sheriff records contact above or the official request page.
- For current local custody, call the jail. A weekly sheriff release is a selected past activity summary, not a custody result.
- For a Viroqua, Westby, or Hillsboro incident report, contact the city police department that created the report.
- For public court activity or a case outcome, use Wisconsin Circuit Court case search and confirm the county and docket.
- For DOC custody or community supervision, use the Wisconsin DOC locator. It is not a new county booking search.
